GYM COMPETITION - its so hard to talk about it cos ii don't know where to start. and ii don't think ii want to because it'll mean re-living all those tears and anger again. it's really strange how they always manage to calculate our marks wrongly, every single year. for all of us, it isn't about losing. we've always gotten first, second or third overall. not this year. apparently. mrs yeo wanted to see all the B div girls. immediately after hearing the results, beverley, lynette and jolene went straight to the results board. we should've gotten overall second. ii don't get it. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE JUDGES? and the fucking system?

during the semi-finals the raised all our hopes, telling lynette that for now she was first in the compulsory overall. that gwendalinne, cecelia and xin xian were first/second for one or two apparatus. during the prize presentation, they didn't even win a thing. this mack girl from RGS came in first for B Div compulsory. and lynette's total score was higher than hers.

even though ii didn't compete, ii could see how hard all of them worked. lynette and the others trained every day for the past two weeks. and they get nothing. it just did not seem fair. as joey so rightly said, it's not about losing. it's about the injustice of it all. no one could hear the bell for the start of the xiao ji ti music. no wonder my juniors were confused. the judges refused to let them redo the routine. but gladys chua, whose ribbon music stuttered halfway, was allowed to redo her routine.

how can they raise our hopes like that, and then take it away from us later? all of us, we cried so many tears. and right after the prize giving, we had to take group shots. the primary came in overall champion, so that's a plus. but all of us secondary were so shocked, upset and angry that we didn't even care about taking pictures. after telling us numerous times to get into the picture, one of the moms lost her temper at gwendalinne, cecelia, xin xian and justina. she yelled at them to hurry up and get into the picture. and it wasn't even the secondary team pic. it was for the primary team pic. and gwendalinne and the others were C Div secondary.

how can she yell at them like that? she can't understand what it's like for them, working so hard and then losing everything. how can she scream at them like that, when they're all feeling so hopeless and tired, and angry? so what if she was a gymnast trained by teng before? she should've been more understanding. doesn't she know what failure feels like? her daughter and ii used to be in the same ballet class and ii'd always see her coming to pick her up outside the studio. she always seemed so friendly, so nice. now ii see who she is. and ii don't even want to say it. her fake, made-up face, done to hide her despicable true self. ii hate you, do you hear me? II HATE YOU.

we shall know the final results on monday, when the irresponsible judges have re-calculated he results.
